Synopsis

Catch Sin Hoe Ping as they showcase their masterful manipulation of string puppets while singing and speaking.

 

Sin Hoe Ping is the last surviving Henghua puppet troupe in Singapore. Despite its relatively small population among the ethnic Chinese, there was an abundance of Henghua puppet troupes that performed actively in the early 20th century. Yeo Lye Hoe inherited the He Ping troupe, predecessor of Sin Hoe Ping in 1981 and continues to manage the Sin Hoe Ping troupe till today.
