Synopsis

2009 Van Cliburn Gold Medal winner Haochen Zhang joins Music Director Chan Tze Law and the Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM) for an electrifying evening featuring two titans of the orchestral repertoire!

The concert opens with Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3, featuring Haochen, celebrated for his "unique combination of deep musical sensitivity, fearless imagination, and spectacular virtuosity." Known for its emotional depth and technical brilliance, this concerto will be brought to life through Haochen's expressive artistry, captivating the audience with its dramatic intensity.

Walton's Symphony No. 1 epitomises the composer's distinctive voice with its rhythmic vitality, harmonic boldness, and emotional intensity. Written during a period of personal turmoil, this symphony blazes with fierce energy and passionate lyricism, perfectly complementing the romantic fire of the Rachmaninoff.
