Synopsis
“Revelation” is a monumental Chinese oratorio inspired by the final book of the Bible, brought to life by a 300-strong choir and orchestra. It reveals God’s sovereign hand over spiritual and physical realms, His call to the church to faithful witness, the final judgement and victorious hope. Part I : Revelation opens with seven letters from the risen Christ, calling His church today to repent, remain faithful, invites His people to steadfast love and overcome struggles with the truth. Part II : Transported into heavenly realm through John’s eyes, God's ultimate and complete victory, the coming of the new heaven and new earth, and the glory of God dwelling eternally with His people are revealed. The seven blessings of Revelation become the believer’s enduring hope and joy. A vivid three-dimensional soundscape brings this oratorio to life: the harpsichord and cello solo anchor John’s prophetic voice; the organ, string quartet and semi-chorus resound with the majesty of elders and heavenly messengers; the orchestra, piano and large chorus give voice to the churches on earth and angels above.
Performed in Mandarin, with English surtitles.
