Join us for a mesmerizing evening of musical fusion in Harmonic Crossings: Resonances of the Qin, where the ancient elegance of the guqin meets the expressive power of violin, viola, cello, and marimba. This unique recital showcases an eclectic blend of East and West, tradition and modernity, sound and silence.
Our programme features two exciting new works by Singaporean composers Germaine Goh and Sulwyn Lok, alongside striking reinterpretations of Debussy’s Pagodes and Three Variations on Plum Blossom (梅花三弄), Hot Pepper and selections from Seven Tunes Heard in China by Bright Sheng, and the timeless guqin solo A Tune in Antique Style (古风操).
From whispered silk-string melodies to bold cross-cultural harmonies, this concert offers a fresh lens on the guqin's versatility and beauty. Come experience the dialogue of instruments across centuries and continents — a celebration of resonance, reinvention, and connection.
