Spaces that keep the music scene alive.
Ep. 1
Rather than waiting for perfect conditions, they really just try, just do—organising or playing shows with limited resources, learning by doing, and relying on others in the community to build something good together. Crossing generations, independent artist Bani Haykal and the founders of PK Records Ian and Gareth speak with host of this series, weish, to unpack the stuff that drives Singapore's independent music scene: a willingness to experiment, cross-pollination of skills, and above all, that kampung spirit.
Through heartfelt conversations and immersive performances across genres and generations, we celebrate some of Singapore’s most exciting musicians and vital individuals who continue to build culture from the ground up, one room at a time.
In this intimate portrait of the music ecosystem, they reflect on formative spaces past and present, why physical spaces continue to matter, and uncover the stories, friendships, and quiet acts of perseverance behind every open door.
