The ticketing system is dynamic so the availability of tickets changes constantly. It’s best to reserve your tickets as soon as possible with Esplanade Box Office and make payment within the given time.
Tickets are generally reserved for 14 days, afterwhich a payment advice will be sent to your school. If the reservation is made less than 21 days before the performance, payment must be made immediately. Reservations will be cancelled if there is no confirmation one month before the performance. Do make payment within the given time so that we do not hold seats at the expense of others who would like to catch the same show!
We no longer issue physical tickets. E-tickets will be issued and emailed to teachers upon payment received. Each e-ticket admits one. Contact.boxoffice@esplanade.com immediately should there be any discrepancies in the number of tickets issued.
We don’t mail tickets to schools to avoid the problem of having tickets lost in transit.

Yes, an e-invoice will be issued for all payments made via IFAAS. A booking confirmation form will be issued upon successful reservation of tickets. Each e-invoice indicates the title of the performance, amount payable and the promoter’s or show organiser’s GST Registration Number.
Similar to catching a movie at the cinema, payment needs to be made prior to attending the performance. Tickets will be printed once payment has been received. It’s highly advisable to ensure that payment is made within the stipulated time given.
You may change the number of seats that you’ve reserved. Any request to increase the number of seats is subjected to availability. However, once payment is received and tickets have been processed, cancellations and exchanges are not allowed.
Grants and Subsidies
Subsidies are indicated on programmes that qualify. The following are the subsidies and grants available to schools:
Tote Board Arts Grant
Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme (CPES) for selected Mandarin programmes
Cultural Performance Exposure Fund (CPEF) for selected Malay cultural programmes
Please refer to the relevant funding organisations for the application of the grants and subsidies. Payment to the performance has to be made in full (i.e. Total cost of tickets booked including SISTIC fee) before the school can make an application. Schools can use the e-invoice or booking confirmation form as a supporting document to apply for the necessary funding and subsidies.
As of Jan 2022, the National Arts Council (NAC) no longer issues LOE for all Public Arts Programme. To check on programme eligibility for the Tote Board Arts Grant, please refer to individual programme listings. For more information, refer to the Tote Board Arts Grant Guidelines
Complimentary Tickets
Yes, complimentary tickets are available for accompanying teachers if the minimum quantity of student tickets are met.
An Education Guide is an education pack that comprises a student’s guide and/or an educator’s guide. These guides contain pertinent information about the work, artist(s) and/or learning activities. The guides are meant to help students and educators demystify the arts and provoke thought about a specific art form or the work in question.
Depending on the purpose of the guide, a Tuned-In Learning Guide will be sent to the educator or contact person indicated in the Booking Form before or after the show, or distributed on-site to educators and students.
Only selected programmes have accompanying guides. However, if you have booked a show under the Feed Your Imagination (F.Y.I) series, an Education Guide/Resource will be available as part of the F.Y.I package.
A wealth of resources and activities on the arts created with educators and students in mind is available on Offstage Schools or in the Family section in Esplanade Offstage. Resources include videos, student guides, lesson ideas, quizzes and more.
Centre Tours, Esplanade Trail and Learning Journey
To give students a peek into this spiky Durian, Esplanade offers a variety of centre tours including the Esplanade Tour, Esplanade Backstage Tour and Esplanade Trail.
The Esplanade Tour is a guided tour that allows students to discover more about our performing venues and front-of-house facilities. The Esplanade Backstage Tour is an extension of the Esplanade Tour and provides access to backstage spaces and facilities that support the smooth and seamless presentations of performances at Esplanade. The Esplanade Trail is a self-guided activity that educators can carry out with students to learn more about Esplanade.
Please email us at education@esplanade.com with details of your visit, at least two weeks prior to your preferred dates.
The Esplanade Trail is a self-guided activity, facilitated by the educator(s) accompanying students on the trail. Students would be able to explore the centre’s front-of-house spaces on their own to learn more about Esplanade and the arts.
As part of the Esplanade Trail, guides have been created for students in lower primary, upper primary and secondary school. Educators will also receive an educator’s guide which contains information and suggested activities.
As part of our engagement efforts, we conduct Learning Journeys for groups of educators and tertiary students from arts-related courses, such as technical theatre, stage or arts management. The Learning Journey will include a guided tour of the centre, followed by a short presentation and a Q&A session.
