Rasas Workshop: Introduction to Traditional Burmese Dance
A highly stylised form of dance theatre rarely seen outside its native land, zat pwe encompasses dance, music, singing and drama. Burmese dance draws inspiration from a range of creative sources, from marionettes, to the spirit realm, to birds in flight. Come join this workshop in the basics of traditional Burmese dance, led by Master U Win Maung of the legendary Shwe Man Thabin Dance Theatre of Myanmar.
This workshop is suitable to people with no prior dance experience.
Comfortable clothing is advised, and participants may be asked to remove their shoes during the workshop.
