Sriwana marks its 70th anniversary with Sriwana 70: Teras. Paksi. Titik., an explorative reflection on the evolution of Malay dance within the group’s storied legacy.
This landmark production evokes a deep sense of nostalgia while seamlessly embracing modernity, brought to life through bold, progressive movements that highlight Sriwana’s artistic evolution, resilience and enduring spirit over the years. Collaborating with regional partners—Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) and Mohd Zulfarqar Bin Awaluddin, a distinguished alumnus of Pak Ngah Production and Yayasan Warisan Johor—the production upholds the tradition and authenticity of Malay dance while introducing fresh perspectives.
Reimagining iconic works alongside innovative, new choreography, Sriwana 70: Teras. Paksi. Titik. reaffirms Sriwana’s role as a cultural trailblazer by pushing the boundaries of Malay dance and advancing its legacy with new, transformative expressions.
