Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with the Lion City Brass Band, led by Music Director Ignatius Wang. Usher in the Christmas cheer with an exhilarating evening of holiday favourites, virtuosic brass and familiar pop melodies.

 

Enjoy heartwarming classics such as Away in a Manger and The Christmas Song popularised by The King Cole Trio, alongside the vibrant local composition Of Orchids and Crimson Sunbirds by Dax Wilson Liang.

 

Gather family and friends for a radiant night of brass and festive spirit!

  • Beautiful Sunday concerts are exclusively available for Esplanade&Me members. If you are not an Esplanade&Me member, sign up for free at esplanade.com/membership.

  • Esplanade&Me members will be able to register for up to 4 tickets per account.

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are required for all patrons including infants in arm.

  • Tickets are available for booking on a first-come, first-served basis. Should the event be fully subscribed, limited tickets may be made available when ticket-holders return their tickets. If you did not manage to get tickets, do check this event page regularly to see if tickets are available.

Lion City Brass Band

The Lion City Brass Band was established in 2015 to promote brass music in Singapore. Led by founding Music Director Ignatius Wang, the band has developed a strong reputation for its captivating and awe-inspiring performances across a diverse range of musical genres.

 

As the premier brass ensemble in Singapore, the Lion City Brass Band has performed at several music festivals and concert venues. It works regularly with Singaporean composers to promote and create new works for the band. With its commitment to inspiring a new standard of brass musicianship in Singapore, the band is also recognised for its work with young students and school bands, through its annual brass workshops and joint performances.

 

Made up of some of Singapore’s finest brass musicians and educators, the Lion City Brass Band has collaborated with several groups, including Eastern Australia Brass during their tour to Singapore in 2018. and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music during its Trombone Weekend in 2023. The band is also known for its Christmas concerts at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and Novena Church. Its recordings have also been frequently featured on the international radio show Sunday Bandstand, and broadcast through radio stations across Australia, Cyprus, France, New Zealand, the UK and the USA.
