Black.
A boundless depth. A magnetic gravity. The body is invited to merge.
FULL-SPECTRUM. DEEP-PULSE. Total presence.
Vibration and form unite at the point of impact. Transcending a set path, a rhythmic heartbeat emerges—a shared awakening.
The resonance blooms the moment it touches.
You discover the centre within the surge.
Neil Chua
Neil Chua is a ruan instrumentalist, artistic director and sound practitioner dedicated to bridging tradition and contemporary expression. A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he holds a Master’s degree specialising in the ruan.
His work integrates improvisation, environmental sound and spatial design to create poetic, immersive experiences. As founder of RuanAtWorkz Musical Arts, he leads cross-cultural collaborations and community-driven projects, including “Moving Mountain”. His practice emphasises stillness and deep listening, offering audiences reflective spaces that reconnect self, culture and environment through a refined contemporary sonic language.
Christoven Tan
Christoven Tan is a contemporary artist with a passion for the constant redefinition of contemporary viola performance and the artist himself. Christoven relies heavily on engaging with contemporary practice and methodologies in today’s Western classical music and is constantly looking to program new works or ideas. It is his mission to give voice to an unheard narrative and expand the human desire to listen.
He performs with the Singapore new music collective weird aftertaste. His multidisciplinary approach often bridges the gap between traditional technique and avant-garde exploration, pushing the boundaries of sonic textures. Through collaborations across diverse mediums, Christoven continues to challenge the conventional concert experience, creating immersive environments where sound and silence hold equal power.
