The performance showcases the poetry of award-winning writers, including the work of the late Suratman Markasan, a literary icon titled Rimba Kata x Mata Hati. The music reimagined by Hidayat Nordin and Juraimi will feature various genres which includes pop-ethnic, folk and rap. This performance also features the modern rhyme and flow of Qismaraj and the soulful vocal of Nurjannah.
A programme of 60 Connections – At Home and Afar, a year-long season of Singapore stories and international collaborations in celebration of SG60.
Hidayat Nordin
Hidayat Nordin is an award- winning multi-discipline artist and writer. He has been invited to several poetry music festivals regionally as a singer, poet, director and writer. As a songwriter he has worked with several local and regional talents for commercial releases and soundtracks for television. In recent times, his works aim to promote Malay literature through various mediums like theatre, music and visual presentation.
