Karaoke Poetry
Synopsis
Karaoke Poetry reimagines how Singaporean Chinese literary works are experienced, through physical-digital interactions. Inspired by the communal nature of karaoke, this experience reimagines reading as a shared and dynamic act.
Using karaoke as an interface, Yeng Pway Ngon’s《白鸟》(White Bird) is adapted into an interactive experience where audience-participants read the poem aloud, while other audience members are invited to participate through digital and physical prompts along the way.
《白鸟》(White Bird) offers an introspective perspective that explores diverse identities and the nuances of personal journeys through fantastical elements and contemporary themes.
