Synopsis

Known for her heartfelt songs and intimate performances, watch Ethel Yap perform songs off her second album Ethel Yap Vol 2. The album charts her growth over the past 8 years from searching for identity and meaning in her twenties, to surviving postpartum anxiety and depression in her thirties. With her inimitable style and originally-written folk songs, Ethel’s latest album not only celebrates her artistry as a folk singer, but keeps things fresh with cinematic, pop and rock elements as she tells stories from her life through song. Enjoy an evening of honest lyrics, intimate performances and heartfelt storytelling with her music.

Ethel Yap is a local singer-songwriter and mainstay in the theatre scene. After dropping her debut album Ethel Yap EP in 2017, she released a second album in 2025 titled Ethel Yap Vol 2. Ethel uses music to tell honest, heartfelt stories through the folk songs she writes. On the theatrical stage, Ethel has worked with companies such as Pangdemonium, W!LD RICE, The Theatre Practice and many others in a variety of lead and supporting roles. She hopes to expand her artistic practice through dramaturgy and creative producing in the future.
