Synopsis

Where rhythm meets soul, and old songs are given a fresh twist, Soul Lab: Experiments in Jazz & Pop takes well-known pop, soul, and jazz tunes and reimagines them with rich harmonies, groovy rhythms, and plenty of space for the band to stretch their creativity. Inspired by artists like Moonchild, Lake Street Dive, Zaniah, Couch, Jesse Gold, and Theo Katzman, their music is vibrant, playful, and full of surprises.

 

From funky renditions of Beatles classics to jazzy reworks of Whitney hits and beyond, this show mixes things up and makes familiar songs feel brand new.

Jordan Wei is one of the region’s most sought-after pianists, having performed alongside acclaimed artists like Amei, David Tao, JJ Lin, and Wang Lee Hom. When not on tour, he leads the Jordan Wei Trio, blending jazz, neo-soul, and R&B into a fresh and dynamic sound. His compositions have been showcased by groups such as the Jazz Association Singapore Orchestra, TENG Ensemble, Nanyang Technological University, and Singapore Management University.
