Synopsis
Synopsis

Les Patineurs duke it out in the rink! Featuring two roller skaters at a mock sporting event, the audience members are also sports spectators. The performance features a combination of physical comedy and extreme circus skills that is inspired by the roller derby revival. Witness a spectacular battle on roller skates unfolding to the popular Skaters Waltz by composer by Émile Waldteufel.

 

This outdoor spectacle was created in 2022, based on the roller skating act Les Patineurs (2019) by Yolaine Dooms and Jasper D'Hondt.

15Feet6 is a Belgium based circus company that has been creating outdoor performances and circus acts since 2013. Their most recent projects are League & Legend,  Primus,  Les Patineurs  and  La Patinoire.

 

Yolaine Dooms aka Doomsday

Yolaine Dooms learned the tricks of the trade at Cirkus in Beweging in Leuven, Belgium, and then at the Academy for Circus and Performance Arts in Tilburg, Netherlands, where she graduated in duo trapeze. She was part of Passe-Pieds and Le Cirque du Platzak, among others and toured across Canada with Vague de Cirque. In 2019, she dedicated herself to rollerskating with Jasper.

 

Jarno Vanthuyne aka The Gardener

Jarno Vanthuyne started his circus career as a teacher at Circusplaneet in Ghent, Belgium, and trained to become an all-round circus porter in no time. In 2021 he strapped on his rollerskates for the first time and became a patineur (skater) as well. With a past as a boxer, his role with Les Patineurs is tailor-made for him.
