Over the span of three decades, Fred Hersch has helped to shape the course of jazz piano as an improviser, composer, educator, collaborator and recording artist. Many luminaries of contemporary jazz piano have at some point gone through his tutelage, including Brad Mehldau, Ethan Iverson and Sullivan Fortner amongst others. Watch Fred Hersch as he coaches pre-selected Singaporean jazz pianists in this masterclass, sharing his insight and approach in response to their playing. Whether you're an aspiring jazz pianist or a music enthusiast looking to expand your horizons, this workshop is your chance to grow your understanding of jazz piano with “the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade” as proclaimed by Vanity Fair.
