Esplanade White Room
Senior Lecturer at the NUS Department of Malay Studies, Dr Azhar Ibrahim Alwee, examines the intrinsic relationship between music and the Malay language in a lecture session exploring how music expresses its nuances, and how the language has shaped the development of Malay music. Through discussions and interactive activities, participants gain insight into the interplay between melody, rhythm and language, offering a deeper appreciation of the cultural foundations of Malay music.
Patrons who have registered will have priority entry to the venue.

Patrons who have registered but are not at the venue 5 mins before the start will have their seats released to walk-in patrons on a first-come, first-served basis.
