Sweeping strings and stirring melodies take centre stage as the Nanyang Technological University Chinese Orchestra brings the rich sounds of Chinese tradition to life, promising a journey through time, culture and heritage.

Known for bringing together the beauty, energy and cultural depth of traditional Chinese orchestral music, the ensemble opens with Phoon Yew Tien's rousing overture The Forge Ahead《奋勇前进》 before taking audiences across borders and eras. Qu Chunquan's Shanghai Rhapsody《上海随想》captures the pulse of a bygone city, Wan Danhong's Macau Capriccio 《澳门随想曲》 draws on the colours of Macau's blended traditions, and Johann Strauss II's Auf der Jagd rounds things off with a spirited nod to the Western repertoire.
