Synopsis
"Sophisticated and accessible" - The Business Times
“An extraordinary musician whose idiom straddles comfortably between genres of classical, jazz, world and film music...” - The Straits Times
TO ensemble presents concert LAND with NO SUN IV: EOS, premiering Quartet for the Rebirth of Time, an original suite of contemporary fusion music by composer-pianist Tze Toh, blending jazz, film score, Indian and classical music. Featuring Lazar T. Sebastine (Carnatic violin), Teo Boon Chye (tenor saxophone), Wu Bingling (violin) and Tze Toh (piano).
This concert reflects on our relationship with time in this era of automation, A.I and 24/7 online connectivity.
The world feels increasingly synthetic and artificial. Is real connection and creativity dead?
Have we stopped living, dreaming imagining, and actually creating?
EOS is the Greek goddess who personifies dawn. This concert aspires to rethink our relationship with time, with the music inspired by the very aspects that makes us human - being present in the moment, whether it’s creating, thinking, dreaming, imagining, interacting in person with people we love, physically connecting with nature and the world around us.
