“NEW STRINGS ANCIENT SOUL”Zhang XiaoJing·GuQin Concert

The concert "NEW STRINGS ANCENT SOUL" is presented by Guqin performer Zhang Xiaojing. This concert focuses on the guqin and leads everyone to experience the process of traditional Chinese culture from ancient times to the present through the mode of musical journey. The concert consists of 8 pieces, divided into two halves; The first half is dominated by classic Guqin music, while the second half is dominated by modern and contemporary works. At this concert, we will have two new works premiered globally; At the same time, we integrate jazz, string ensemble, chamber orchestra, electronic music, and China's most traditional music Guqin, creating unexpected sparks of collision. We will bring you this feast of Guqin music from the most professional and avant-garde perspective. Zhang Xiaojing: Guqin performer, member of the International Guqin Society. Studied under Professor Zhao Xiaoxia from the Central Conservatory of Music, and was inspired by Shandong qin player Xiao Xiao and famous qin player Zhang Zisheng. Won the Gold Award for Guqin Performance on International Instrument Performance Day in 2017; Won the Gold Award at the First Chinese Guqin Tea Art Exhibition in 2018; Won the Gold Award at the 26th Beijing National Musical Instrument Solo Exhibition in 2019; Invited to the Leonardo da Vinci Art Festival in Italy, the International Summit Forum on Ethnic Instrumental Culture, and the Rome Conservatory of Music for artistic exchange in 2022; In 2023, invited to participate in the French Sino French International Guqin Art Festival, located at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris, France and the European Times Cultural Center, with Guqin artists Professor Zhao Xiaoxia and Yang Lining performing on the same stage, bringing a feast of Guqin to French classical music enthusiasts. She firmly believes that the most avant-garde music often grows in the most traditional culture.
