Vocal Associates proudly presents A Ceremony of Carols – A Christmas Celebration by Vocal Associates and Friends, an evening of festive music that brings together choirs, soloists, and musicians from Singapore and Australia in a joyous year-end celebration of unity, artistry, and hope.
Held on 21 December 2025, 7:30pm at the Esplanade Concert Hall, this international collaboration features the combined voices of Vocal Associates Chorus, Chamber Choir, Senior Choir, Ensemble of Young Voices, and Solo Artistes, led by Artistic Director Khor Ai Ming (Singapore). Joining them are the Queensland Festival Chorus and Vocal Manoeuvres from Australia, conducted by acclaimed Australian choral director Alison Rogers.
The evening’s centrepiece is Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, presented with its shimmering original instrumentation and anchored by the evocative harp solos of Singaporean harpist Fontane Liang. The programme further showcases a rich tapestry of Christmas favourites and contemporary works, including Waltzing Matilda, Cantique de Noël, In the Bleak Midwinter, Mary Did You Know, Sancta Maria, Hallelujah, A Christmas Song, Love Grows at Christmas Time, and a vibrant selection of Australian carols.
Esteemed guest artists — American soprano Maureen Kelly, Singaporean countertenor Samuel Yuen, and pianists Bernard Lanskey and Bertrand Lee — add brilliance to the celebration, performing alongside the combined choirs in an evening of beauty, warmth, and festive cheer.
A Ceremony of Carols invites audiences to come together in the spirit of Christmas, celebrating friendship across borders, the magic of choral music, and the timeless message of peace and joy for all.
