Synopsis

Tchaikovsky holds nothing back in his tremendous Fifth Symphony, a towering work with its heart fully on its sleeve, nor in his turbulent overture encapsulating the passion and angst of Romeo and Juliet. Couple these with the lyrical desolation of Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2, starring the versatile and critically acclaimed violinist Benjamin Schmid, and you have a lavish programme of Romantic fervour and piquant modernity that will not fail to please.
