Esplanade Concert Hall
The Tanjong Katong Girls’ School Symphonic Band presents an evening of music that celebrates growth, resilience and the joy of making music together. Through a diverse selection of works, this concert showcases the dedication and musical journey of its student musicians.
The programme opens with the energetic Flight of the Thunderbird, showcasing the band’s vibrant and dynamic sound. As the evening unfolds, audiences will experience a variety of musical colours and styles, from familiar melodies to lively and expressive works that highlight the versatility of the band.
A special feature of the concert includes performances by student ensembles, highlighting the dedication and development of individual sections within the band. These moments allow young musicians to step forward and share their musical voices while contributing to the collective spirit of the ensemble.
The concert concludes with the heartfelt If We Hold On Together, a timeless reminder that perseverance, hope, and unity can carry us through even the most challenging moments.
Bringing the arts to communities in need through Limelight
Half of the ticket proceeds will go toward supporting Esplanade’s community engagement programmes which bring the arts to at-risk youth, the elderly, people with special needs and other underserved communities.

Tanjong Katong Girls’ School Symphonic Band
Established in 1990, the Tanjong Katong Girls’ School (TKGS) Symphonic Band has built a strong tradition of excellence in music-making, consistently attaining Distinction at the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. Beyond SYF, the band has been invited to perform at numerous public platforms including the Istana Open House, Band Fiesta and Limelight at Esplanade.
Over the years, the band has also participated in cross-cultural exchanges with musicians from the United States and Japan. These include exchange programmes with the Aichi Meiden High School Symphonic Band and joint concerts with the Edina High School Band, among others.
2026 marked thirty-six years of history of the TKGS Symphonic Band. The band continues to partner with its alumni in the shared pursuit and love of music-making, while nurturing the next generation of young musicians.
Relaxed Environment
This is a Relaxed Environment (RE) performance. Perfect for anyone who benefits from being able to make a noise, leave and return to their seat or access the toilets during the performance. No modifications are made to the performance.
