Explore contemporary movement through the lens of five genres of Malay dance: asli, inang, joget, masri and zapin.
Mask-wearing is optional. However, audiences are encouraged to continue to exercise responsibility and caution, such as wearing masks when in crowded places.
Haziq Noorazwa
Haziq started dancing at the age of five. Throughout his artistic endeavours, Haziq has a passion for music and is keen to develop his skills in understanding and playing of music. His early influences were his music and dance teachers, Ms Mazlina Buang and Mr Noorazwa Mohd Joz, who were both also his parents. Together with two of his older siblings, the three of them enrolled into the dance company their parents managed.
At age 12, he was offered to audition for the School Of The Arts (SOTA) Singapore under the faculty of music. It was then that he decided to choose dance over music. With his strong background in music, Haziq applied this understanding towards all aspects of his dance training; from Malay dance, both traditional and contemporary form as well as street dances. He has also worked under the guidance of several established choreographers namely Mdm Som Said, Osman Abdul Hamid, Yazid Juhuri, Badarudin Hassan, Norlie Ismail, Zulfakar Awaluddin (Belalang, KL), Norisham Osman, Jamyl Halid and many more across the region.
He is currently the principal dancer for Atrika Dance Company, spearheading and conceptualising numerous projects and events for the company which is made up of youths between the age 13-29. He has been performing, choreographing for the company for both local and international projects and festivals.
