The ABCs of Swing: Asian Roots, Bouncin' Beatles, and Swingin' Classics

Led by jazz specialist and educator Sinclair Ang, Jazz Inc is a premier Singapore collective. Having been active in the Singapore jazz scene for almost two decades now, the dance collective is dedicated to spreading the joy of traditional jazz, charleston, lindy hop, and early jazz music to more people in Singapore. Jazz Inc’s ensemble, The Rhythmakers, are committed to capturing the hard-swinging spirit of the 1930s and 1940s—the golden era of jazz. Under Sinclair’s artistic direction, their performances relive the classic, integrated style of early jazz entertainment, where dancers and big bands engaged in constant musical interplay.

The Rhythmakers feature an all-star lineup of the jazz scene’s coolest cats—vocalist Sinclair Ang, trumpeter Issei Hidaka, trombonist Leo Jeoh, pianist Amanda Lee, bassist Nobu Shiraishi, and drummer Raf Soundwalker.
