Synopsis

On his journey to Singapore, Seri Rama encounters a fierce storm unleashed by the Sea King, but with Sang Garuda’s help, he manages to calm the raging waters. Continuing his voyage into the waters of Temasek, he is blocked by Sang Naga Pulau, who is ultimately slain by Indera Bayu’s Sakti Arrow. 

 

When he finally arrives in Singapore, he is met with one last challenge—a face-off against Maharaja Jenggala, a dark warrior wielding powerful magic in a battle to restore peace. 

 

Experience this thrilling tale of heroism, mythical beasts and epic battles brought to life through wayang kulit, the traditional art of shadow puppetry from the Malay Archipelago.

Sri Setia Pulau Singa

Sri Setia Pulau Singa, a Wayang Kulit group named by Pak Soh, was formed in 2012. 

 

Coming from dikir barat background, it is of no surprise that the members of Sri Setia Pulau Singa developed an intense interest in another Kelantanese traditional artform, Wayang Kulit Kelantan. Sri Setia Pulau Singa is trained by Pak Soh and aims to bring Wayang Kulit Kelantan to Singapore cultural enthusiasts.

 

Sri Setia Pulau Singa has performed at various events and venues including at Gentarasa, Neighbourhood Sketch @ Bussorah Street in Singapore, Malay Heritage Centre, Festivals @ Angsana and UTM, Skudai, Johor Bahru..Sri Setia Pulau Singa (a subsidiary of ETHNIC SHADOWS) also conduct workshops for primary and secondary schools.
