Synopsis

Jumat Gombrong is a hip-hop collective formed in Yogyakarta in 2020, uniting artists from different generations. Their music blends traditional elements with modern hip-hop beats, incorporating Javanese ornamentation and lyrics in both Indonesian and Javanese. Emerging from a series of underground events, they have become a key force in the city’s hip-hop culture. Today, Jumat Gombrong continues to push creative boundaries and bring the sounds of Yogyakarta’s hip-hop beyond its borders.
