Guided by distinguished conductors Rachel Howley (Australia) and Hendrik Kwek (Singapore), these exceptional young musicians will perform a vibrant and challenging programme, featuring classic and contemporary works for wind band. Audiences can look forward to inspired renditions of Eric Whitacre’s Equus, Jodie Blackshaw’s evocative Peace Dancers, Yikko Nishimura’s expressive Sailing, Christian Huss’s As the River Flows, and Fran Griffin’s lively Huntsman in the Car. Adding to the excitement, the concert will feature a special performance by the WBAS alumni band—comprised of former festival participants who are now young adults and active musicians in the community.
