Synopsis
Step into THE BODY ELECTRIC, where music is not just heard but lived — conveyed through breath, bone, and being. The SYC Ensemble Singers weaves a musical tapestry inspired by the bold assertion of self in the poetry of Walt Whitman and the belief that within every body is a song. The concert draws from six decades of the choir’s sonic memory, with the world premiere of a new work from Artistic Director Jennifer Tham and choir alumni Diana Soh and Americ Goh as well as music from Joyce Bee Tuan Koh and Hoh Chung Shih. Fragments from its history converge in the present and culminate in an invitation for the audience to become part of the music-making collective.
