Synopsis
Experience an extraordinary evening as world-renowned composer and conductor Joe Hisaishi returns to Singapore for a spectacular collaboration with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
This highly anticipated concert will feature the World Premiere of Symphonic Suite The Boy and the Heron, bringing to life the music from Hayao Miyazaki’s latest masterpiece in an unprecedented symphonic experience. Additionally, audiences will witness the Asia Premiere of Hisaishi’s Harp Concerto, a stunning work co-commissioned by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra alongside leading orchestras in France and the USA.
The program also includes Stravinsky’s spellbinding Firebird Ballet Suite (1945), a masterpiece of orchestral color and mythical grandeur, alongside Márquez’s electrifying Danzón No. 2, a vibrant and rhythmic celebration of Latin passion and dance.
Joining the performance as the harp soloist is Emmanuel Ceysson, principal harpist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, whose virtuosity will illuminate this groundbreaking musical journey.
