If there was a time to be starstruck, this would be the moment: a name synonymous with Brazilian arts and culture, Gilberto Gil is a true global icon of music. For over six decades, the octogenarian has been proliferating the genres of bossa nova and tropicália to a worldwide audience and even had a stint as his home country’s Minister of Culture! He graciously stepped into our cargo lift for a raw, stripped-down rendition of Tempo rei while in Singapore for his farewell Aquele Abraço Tour on 2 Oct 2024 at Esplanade Theatre.
