SIBELIUS Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82

Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Finland’s Independence in this grand concert featuring Finnish violinist, conductor and composer Jaako Kuusisto’s Violin Concerto, played by its dedicatee Elina Vähälä. No celebration of Finnish nationalism is without the works of its greatest musical son, Jean Sibelius – the majestic Symphony No. 5 concludes the programme opened by Finland’s unofficial second national anthem, Finlandia.
