katncandix2 was formed on 30 May 2007 and began performing on the streets with the approval of the Department of Cultural Affairs in Taipei. The duo is headed by band leader Shen Sheng Je (SSJ) and lead singer Chuang Chuan Ying (Ball).

In 2009, katncandix2 released their debut album Little Flight. Their song "我們都一樣” reached No. 2 on the Chinese pop charts UChart of Radio 100.3FM in June 2009. The band has also been nominated for three categories in the 2009 Singapore Hit Awards – Best Pop Group, Outstanding Newcomer, and Best Popular Group.
