Esplanade - Santai! RiB Style!

SYNOPSIS

Award winning Rhythm in Bronze (RiB) has been making ripples in the music scene in Kuala Lumpur since 1997, by pioneering and spearheading new dimensions of gamelan performance. RiB will be performing Santai! RiB style! (Santai is Malay for relax). They will display the various gamelan styles from the region, fused with western instruments like the guitar & bass. They will be performing pieces such as Sekar Anyar (Javanese) Kosalia Arini (Balinese), Ketawang (Malay), new arrangements like Race & Siboru Pastima and specially composed pieces for RiB, Lagu Utk Teman Lama by Gareth Farr and Epilogue/Jungle by Sunetra Fernando.

Earth Hour at Esplanade on 27 March 2010

In line with our efforts to contribute to a greener environment, Esplanade will be participating in the Earth Hour project spearheaded by WWF (World Wide Fund For Nature). Pledging our support for Earth Hour 2010, Esplanade will dim and turn off the lights around the centre from 8.30pm â 9.30pm on Saturday, 27 March 2010. All operations in the centre will continue as normal.
