SYNOPSIS
"To communicate and build relationships in the absence of money. Sharing and taking care of others could then begin with the smallest things. My sketches were inspired by this spirit of giving that these buildings presented. Could works of art possibly be the trigger of a new kind of communication?"

- Eko Prawoto
As an architect and an educator, Prawoto's philosophy remains simple but essential. What life has given unto him, he tries to back to others through his work. His relationship with nature is the foundation to his philosophy of existence. This is evident in a large body of his works where he uses indigenous materials and building-methods while stressing the importance of community building.
Sketching is one of Prawoto's favourite activities. In this series of prints, he presents to the audience "sacred" places that he has had the honour to chance upon. Being an observer of life's enthralling beauty and providence, he feels that there is much opportunity and offerings more precious than that of the monetary means. Thus, instead of a focus on the "stock exchange", he offers instead, a sacred one.
