SYNOPSIS
The artists use the traditional techniques of ink painting to illuminate innovative art concepts. Calligraphy Deconstructed by Lee Yu Juan is a series of mixed media paintings that transforms traditional calligraphy into semi-abstract and poetic forms. Lee offers new insights through broadening the realms of expression within Chinese calligraphy, to exemplify the timelessness of Chinese art and culture. A Suspended Stillness by Wyn-Lyn Tan; Through soft fabric panels, she not only explores the scenery of romanticism, reminiscent of early Chinese landscapes expressed in misty mountains and lakes, but also offers a "window" that opens up to higher possibilities, a new vision that calls each of us to greater destinies.
Yeo Shih Yun combines the use of traditional materials with an unconventional "Gone with the Wind" drawing process to produce Conversation with trees, a multi-medium presentation featuring collaborative drawings by the artist and trees across Singapore.
