SYNOPSIS
|
“She has long made her mark as an international artist. Still, it was as if she had captivated a whole new world. Lea Salonga earned a standing ovation at the end of her historic concert...at Los Angeles’ ... the Walt Disney Concert Hall.” – Inquirer.net
She made her name internationally as the Vietnamese waif with the angelic voice in 1989 Broadway musical Miss Saigon – a role which won her the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical and the Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical in 1991.
Since then, the former Filipino child star and ex premed student has starred in musicals Cinderella, Flower Drum Song and Les Misérable (as both Eponine and Fantine) and theatre productions Baby, They’re Playing Our Song, Into the Woods and My Fair Lady, been the singing voice of Disney heroines Mulan (in Mulan) and Jasmine (in Aladdin), performed around the world to rave reviews, acted in both Filipino and American films, released several albums including 2007’s Inspired, and become arguably one of the world’s biggest Filipino stars.
Welcome Lea Salonga and her famously crystal clear voice, singing songs from Broadway as well as the Disney songs she made worldwide hits, backed by a six-piece band.
