SYNOPSIS
“The Arts Fission Company is Singapore’s blossoming performing arts scene at its best—innovative, eclectic, willing to take risks, richly human.” - Brian Mertens, WINGSPAN ANA magazine

The performance is inspired by Angkor Wat, a historical wonder which conjures up immediate existential tension between nature and human. The concept of time in the modern and ancient sense is investigated through the physical manifestation of nature’s mark-making on landscapes and man-made structures, hence the reference to “celestial graffiti”.
The evident of time’s passing is thus explored through a kind of movement scribbling that reflects a new vernacular dance expression. The performance will include new media and technology as creative means to construct the soundscape and performance environment for the dance.

The original dance work continues ARTS FISSION choreographer and Cultural Medallion 2009 recipient Angela Liong’s long term research on the impact of climate change in Asia through arts, cultures and humanity. The performance also features an original score by composer Joyce Koh.
