SYNOPSIS

“Dianne’s the legitimate extension of all of the good things that have gone on before, from Ethel Waters to Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah and Carmen. She is earth mother, lover, hurt child: she manages to get inside each one of those things.” – Joe Williams, Down Beat
“A natural story-teller she used her timing and phrasing to bring novel insights to everythingshe sings.” – Los Angeles Times

Performing as a Mosaic Series artist to a near-full house crowd in 2005, pre-eminent jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves returns with a dazzling programme that features songs from her first Blue Note album of new material in five years. When You Know, released in 2008, is a stunning array of performances of old and new standards along with an infectious, uplifting new original.
Celebrated for her virtuosity, improvisational prowess and unique jazz stylings (which she draws from a world of influences including Africa, Brazil, the Caribbean, gospel, R&B and pop), Dianne was awarded the Grammy for “Best Jazz Vocal Performance” for three consecutive recordings – a Grammy first in any vocal category.

Her versatility in song interpretation is unrivaled, a talent which is richly on display in every song she sings. Dianne has performed with musical luminaries from Harry Belafonte and Sergio Mendes to the Berlin Philharmonic, and recorded extensively with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra. She appeared and performed in George Clooney’s film, Good Night, and Good Luck and its soundtrack won her her fourth Grammy nod.
Join this extraordinary vocalist, accompanied by her trio in a concert of rhythmic virtuosity and improvisational brilliance.
