SYNOPSIS
Held in conjunction with the national Malay Language Month in July, Cinta – Puisi Berlagu highlights the beauty of language through its use in Malay literature, poems and songs. The performance hopes to capture the imagination of young audiences and inspire them to fall in love with the symbolism and imagery of the Malay language.
Artistes from the Malay community will gather to recite and perform a selection of their favourite poetry from such literary icons as Masuri S N and Khadijah Hashim. Fronting this performance is Adi Rahman, a producer-presenter with Radio Warna and an eloquent champion of Malay language use. He will be reciting his original work Bumi, last presented at the Anugerah Planet Muzik 2007. Joining him are local singers Hyrul Anuar, Kalysa and Roze with their renditions of new and evergreen Malay songs.
