in::music series presents some of the most inspiring Chinese indie bands and singer-songwriters performing their original compositions over two weekends, as part of Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2010.

They emerged from the Taipei music underground in 2000 and blew audiences away with their rock songs and ballads blending influences of alt-pop, Brit-rock and Taiwanese folk-rock with raw energy, heartfelt lyrics, simple, Beatlesesque arrangements and jangly guitar.
13band, made up of brothers Xiao Bao (vocals and songwriting), Xiao Yu (guitars), Jun Ping (bass) and Liao We (drums), has since released four acclaimed albums and EPs, and won awards such as 2005 Hohaiyan Rock Festival Best MV prize, and was nominated for the 2007 and 2009 Golden Melody Awards’ Best Band award.
