Perth Concert Hall is more usually known for the wonderful music it presents than for its food.

But its venue manager, Ogden International Facilities Corporation, Perth [OIFC], has a food and beverage division, which annually prepares equally wonderful banquets, wedding feasts, sundowner cocktail refreshments, pre-concert dinners, and much more, for thousands of audience members and corporate clients.

OIFC Perth's brief is as venue manager of four of Perth Theatre Trust's theatres: Perth Concert Hall, His Majesty's Theatre, Playhouse Theatre and Subiaco Theatre Centre.

A major feather in the OIFC cap was the winning of two major awards at the seventh Restaurant and Catering Australia Awards for Excellence late in 2005, where the F&B Division of OIFC ( Perth) won for Perth Concert Hall the title of best National Venue Caterer for 2005 and more particularly the prestigious Caterer of the Year Award.

The R&CA Awards are the top awards for caterers in Australia and the two main awards are Restaurant of the Year and Caterer of the Year. OIFC's F&B Division is headed by Michael Scott (pictured with the national award). On Sunday 5 February 2006, OIFC Perth won the State Restaurant and Catering Awards (R&CIA Awards for Excellence in Catering, to be exact) for best Venue Caterer AGAIN - this is the fifth year in a row that they have won Best Venue Caterer prize, plus a number of other significant prizes. The chef based at His Majesty's Theatre, Matt Tierney, was a finalist for 'Function Chef of the Year' this year. To go back to the national awards, and to put things in perspective, the concert hall was up against over 2000 establishments across all States and territories. In all, 238 finalists in 34 categories competed for the coveted prizes.

In previous years, OIFC (Perth) has won several (State) R&CIA awards including Function Chef of the Year 2002 and 2004, Catering Consultant of the Year for the last three years and Best Venue Caterer for five years - and they have only been running an F&B operation in Perth for five years!
